* I had been writing this nick as toukou. Not 100% sure about it.

  1. I tried the links, it doesn't work so far.

  2. After watching K for the last 2-4 months in some of the more recent vids, I think it's safe to say he has surpassed Toutanki as the top ACTIVE Hawk in Japan, O. Hawk & N. Hawk. The reason I say active is because I still think Mayakon probably has the best overall Hawk, period. But I tell you, K is closing in fast.

I'd love to see one of those 10 game sets, Monday Showdowns I believe, between K and say, Gian, YuuVega or Tsuji. Speakin of which, nohoho, do they still do those from time to time?

Also, when you posted those, were they recent? Like within the last year or so?

  3. Yeah K has been doing well lately. Winning tourneys with Hawk and Boxer. 2ch posters continue to mention Inomata the magic video-capture-avoiding Hawk as one of the best.

Sako has been repping with O.Hawk instead of Ryu lately, btw.

Speakin of which, nohoho, do they still do those from time to time?
Yeah. Multi-game series ("taiman gachi" battles -- I just wrote "monday showdown" cause I was posting on mondays) are common. Where american players do money matches, japanese players have 10-20-30 game series. Part of Nuki's training for SBO was many 100+ game series against Kurahashi CE Guile.

Videos, not so much. We need a correspondent in Japan to scoop up some dvds. heh

Also, when you posted those, were they recent? Like within the last year or so?
Nah.. I'm not exactly sure but I think they took place at one of the early X-Manias (2ish.) Inoki has been retired for a few years now.

  4. hey nohoho can you post the link to the 2channel thread which you keep referring to? I tried googling it but all I get are old archived threads. thanks.

    4: スパ2X、ハイパースト2プレイヤースレ33 (586)

New thread starts at 1000. Also sometimes the url changes to game(n+1)

  6. So is that the deal with Inomata? He doesn't want his shit capped? I can understand that, but if he's as good as he's been made out to be, he should embrace the opportunity to showcase his skills, not shun it. What can he possibly be doing that K, Toutanki or Mayakon haven't already done? I mean shit, just in the latest 2on
you posted, K is super reversaling ftw, FFS.

In regard to having a correspondent
in Japan: What about Boudreau? Doesn't he still live in Japan? Would love to get my mits on some of the more recent "taiman gachi" battles, for sure.

  7. Ah I was just kidding around about the video capture thing. He just doesn't enter many tourneys is all.

  8. thanks for the link. I got to brush up on 2ch language; they should make a textbook or something.

someone mentioned it in passing, but I'm going to glorify it even more.

Reversal typhoon super against piledriver ftw is the sexiest thing on the planet.

    end of story.
