Mikado's annual Happy New Year's tournament is scheduled for Thursday at 10pm (Japan.) It's a 2on2 where Shogatsu fights the winning team at the end not this year. Mattsun's planning a live stream maybe here.

Darkstalkers Carnival 2009

Tournaments for Vampire, VH and VS went down on Sunday. I didn't have a chance to link to the live stream, but the archive is available here. The "extramatch" was a 19-on-19 showdown between T2ya's team and DD's team.

This event used a king of the hill format where the winner stayed on the machine as if playing casual games. The players who got the longest win streaks — ARG with 7 & 9 games, Futachan with 7 and Seki with 10 — then slugged it out in the finals. Details here.
