This year's Darkstalkers Combination Cup is scheduled for September 20th. Preliminary contests have been going on all over Japan. In the case of a team tournament, the winners face off to decide who gets the DCC seed. Art by Pon00000.

KRS-ONE WILL END YOUR CAREER

Good luck to all Evo 2009 participants! I offer this gem to help you get motivated.

Again KRS came back to his original point which was that if Canibus feels that battling KRS-One would somehow help his career he would do so. After all, the subsequent publicity would be great..However, he would after understand that KRS-One would bring it to him and most likely end his career. Kris in his banter pointed out that he was like a martial arts master and that he is always prepared. He noted that when he released the 'Return Of The Boom Bap' album in '94 that he put all rappers on notice. He said that anyone who came out after '94 were subject to having their careers end at any given moment. KRS claimed that when he hears a new artists come on the scene.. that he immediately writes a rhyme that will totally dismantle him and his career. He keeps those rhymes in the back of his head just in case he has to take some kid out..

The following teams won their block finals and they'll compete in the SBO main event in August. There are some pictures of the winners over here. Teams holding a blue certificate are headed to the finals. Only two qualifiers remain: the Korean tourney this weekend [edit: added] and the last chance event next month.

Someone posted this SBO Q certificate data on the BBS. I added international teams and turned the thing into a bar graph.
Red Issued - Number of times someone won a local finals with that character.
Red Winners - Number of winners with that character (i.e. the first value less repeat attempts such as those from Shiro and AC Revenger.)
Blue Winners - Number of times someone won a block finals with that character. Again, blue certificate winners are headed to the main event.

Winningest Characters

Each character got three points for a 1st place result, two for 2nd and one for 3rd. For June there were 26 points from Arturo @ Dhalsim. Sutoraikusan together with Dr. Chaos got 19 points for Ken. The 7 console-only characters have gotten 157 points collectively since the game came out.
