ARG: [his rival/student MAO lost so he wants to represent that Chubu Claw]
Mattsun: Your student? I just took him out a minute ago.

ReplyDeleteBeat the Kyushu team. Got swept by Otochun.
ReplyDeleteI actually got to chat with the Kyushu guys the night before; they were really nice. I'll do a write up of that night (w/ videos!) in a bit.
You have two "3rd" placings listed.
ReplyDeleteMy personal pick to win it all (after Team USA!) was Otochun's team. I'm glad they at least got second.
Also, I'm dying to hear about this new Dee Jay discovery that s-kill tweeted about. Hopefully it's one of your secret missions.
NH2 has it right. In single elim, there are 2 third placers—and 4 fifth placers, 8 ninth placers, etc.
ReplyDeleteTougeki doesn't pit the 2 third placers against each other to determine who exactly is 3rd and who's 4th.
And fighting game tourney result standards don't separate the placers based on who beat them (i.e. team KYY is 3rd because they lost to the winners; team Midorimushi is 4th because they lost to the 2nd placers).
However, it's normally respectful to order the teams within the same placing by what placed team they lost to (i.e. team KYY should be ordered above team Midorimushi amongst 3rd placers). And that's exactly how NH2 has it.
Oh right, single elim! My mistake.

ReplyDelete+1, im very interested too
Is it possible that someone was just singing Ito and/or Seki's praises and something got lost in translation?
ReplyDeleteSeth hasn't been around ST scene for years so he thought DJ was low tier. Then he sees the Tougeki program listing DJ as high tier and he freaks out on twitter. No big deal.
ReplyDeleteFunny how guile chun and dic dropped one place on the list. I wonder why it is so.
ReplyDeleteWill we see a new diagram? I've been quoting that "new" Arcadia one for ages.
